Cote de Basque

Just arrived in France. The travel went pretty easy and other than the 2 hour jetlagged drive in the dark from Bilbao-Biarritz it was one of the mellower trans-Atlantic missions I'd been on.

We woke up to find that the Basque coast has June gloom as well. After a beach day was not in the cards we headed down to San Sebastian to have some wine and tapas.

Its pretty amazing h0w many people you can find in the bar having wine and tapas mid afternoon. Sani didnt complain.

Prefab buildings don't exist in the Basque country.

The County Fair

After being talked into going to the Del Mar Fair over and over again I finally succumbed to the peer pressure. Not that I dont enjoy Turkey Legs, Fried Donuts, and BBQ Beef Sundaes...but.....just seemed like social anxiety at its finest. We had a super good crew though, 15 deep on bikes and as we rode into the fairgrounds the security guard said he thought we were the Hells Angels....

The place was ridiculous. Every walk of American life was represented and there was no organic food to be found. Actually, deep fried butter might be organic? Robbie was there and paused for a moment. Congrads on the new job Rob.

This was the Juicy's BBQ stand and where Brent bought a turkey leg for 9$. He actually said at one point he didnt care how much any of the food cost since it was the fair.

Only a couple people out of the crew actually went on any of the rides. Most of us were mesmerized by the Michael Jackson coverband the entire time. I'm super glad I went, now I never ever have to go again.

Finally Finished

After a couple months of waiting I finally got the bike back from the shop....the new version. Jake Hobbs did a great job with the mod's and everything came out like i wanted for the most part. There are still a few things to work on but overall....He's done...

Picture 5
The mod's we did were: Bars, Chain conversion, Tank, Fenders, Grips, Tires, Seat and Suspension to name a few.

Picture 3
I wonder if the country boy I bought this from would have sold it for so cheap if he knew how much better it could look with a little time and a Hobbs? Plus, anything looks good in the sunset.

The Final Days of the Winter (in Summer)

4 days of sun and a perfect hip=such a good shoot and end to a long winter season.
Picture 6
Snow doesn't really like 70 degree weather so we were constantly maintaining. Sollors was directing the reconstruction.

Picture 7
Danny decided the hand worked better than the shovel

Picture 8
The hand seemed to work

Picture 9
Terje and Tim were there getting shots too

4 days of non stop sessions produced some super good stuff and a couple shots that will be talked about for some time to come. Perfect crew, perfect weather.....perfect way to end the season. Thanks to everyone that was involved, I'm lucky to get to work with you dudes.

I've actually haven't driven from LA to Mammoth in like 10 years....Not sure if I'm the biggest fan of the desert.

Picture 4
Leyland was though and actually stayed an extra day to hit Death Valley on the way back. After watching Vancouver lose again last night I'm sure he wished he stayed for a couple more days;)

Picture 2
Not the most picturesque scenery

Packing Up and Heading Out

I'm finally getting out of SLC and moving on....For the summer Encinitas, then who knows..

Screen shot 2011-05-06 at 10.59.20 AM
I was trying to find a good photo in relation to packing and I remembered I shot this one of Jeremy on our last urban mission of the season. We were scrambling to pack our storage unit before nearly missing our flights out.

Its gonna be nice opening this door and being 100% dialed on the 1st trip next season.
