After a long day of skating...

Beers were in order...we hung out in front of one of the spots for a bit and i got a chance to test this camera a little more. Slow shutter speeds are fun in the city environment.

We end up at this little cafe bar. Drew and I ask for "dos grande cerveza, por favor" this is what we got. These beers are 2 liters each. Of course we couldnt let them get warm so we were forced to chug...I actually drank the whole thing without peeing. WOW. Drew was not so lucky. He puked 3/4 of the way through and still manged to finish. Yumm.

Alot bigger than your normal beer

We then bombed some hills.
The next day i was awoken and ordered to the beach. Drew and I were hurting.
The architecture in Barcelona is insane.Lisa and Matt did really well at the beach. It was definatley time for another cervezaAfter the beach we walked back to the hotel to get ready to skate...

The story contines

Waking up, Barcelona...2nd day of fun...1st stop...this spot called Parallel...its a pretty famous spot, large square manual pads everywhere...Also, after the manny pads there are perfect double sided marble ledges, but of course.

Switch nose manny.
After the morning session, we went to this super cool outdoor cafe with an ample supply of old people to photograph.
We then got on the train, the plan was to meet up with some of Matts Spanish friends who were gonna take us to some other spots.
The main train station in Barcelona is called Sants...This was the most famous skate spot in Barcelona for years. I can remember first seeing footage from this spot in 1995. The spot has these marble benches all the way down it. It has changed alot since the 90's and is really beat down. The ledges are really rough and many of the stair features it used to have have been removed. None the less its fun to skate a famous spot like this and its still better than any street spot in Salt Lake. Drew got busy on a boardslide.Sants is in the shade which is awesome.
After getting nasty on some board slides,Drew went across the street and grabbed our friend San Miguel (40oz)...I did a bs tail. The sun beams through Barcelona

After Sants we went to this little park. This was a crazy hip spot seen in a few of the vids. Its one of the only spots in the city that has been made unskateable. Im sure someone will remove this things soon enough.

Day 1 continued..

Yes, this spot really exists....its insane...the only problem is the huge cracks between each of these blocks...Sterb's crushed a fs rock on this thing.

Drew and Fabia were our cheering section
There are also apparently Skins fans in Spain.
This was one portion of the extreme contest. Kids where throwing down.
On the way home we walked by this gem.
This was the street our 1st apartment was on.

One of my favorite photos of the trip for sure.

Best Trip Ever, Day 1

Here are a couple leftovers from the 1st night. This sqaure is pretty amazing. It has Hard Rock Cafe, McDonalds, Burger King and 3 Starbucks.

I was actually shooting out of the Starbucks window for this shot.
Okay, sooo after waking up from not sleeping, being jetlagged etc. We got on the road and started checking out things around the city. Sterbo knew of an "extreme" contest that was going down and he had to do a little work there so we went and checked it out. Luckily 5 amazing skatespots were at the place where the contest was. I decided to get a little "extreme" myself by ordering "something random" off of the menu....It was called Cuttlefish. I ate one bite and threw it under the table.

As we got closer to the contest we started seeing spots. The crazy thing about Barcelona is that any of there 250 spots would be the best spot in Salt Lake or most other American cities....everything here slides and grinds to perfection. It really is better than i even imagined.
Barcelona has the coolest architecture of anywhere i have been.
This spot was another one we stumbled on and was actually somewhere i wanted to check out before i came. Jack Curtain had a photo on one of the benches...the are metal. There is about 100 of them. Once again. Better than any spot in most American cities. No getting kicked out. Only skating so much your legs fall off.
This freakin crazy structure is actually a solar panel. A seriously good looking one. Its on water.

Getting to Barcey

I just got a new camera. Photos from this trip are nuts...I cant wait to make 5 blogs about it. Drew and I and a bunch of our new Spanish friends partied till 7am last night so i dont really have the motivation today to do more than one. Ive decided I love the fact that the bars in the US close at 2.
The people mover, chicago
The alps are freakin insane. The weather in Munich is NOT insane

I finally got to see this sign. Its been along time comingThe camera i just got, (canon G10) has some really nice slow shutter features...more cool ones to come.

Ming, Ping, bOoozzeee

Oakley threw a party the the Fice boutique the other night for the launch of a limited edition frogskin. The glasses came out pretty fresh and are sure to give Ashbury a run for their money. My brother took these shots, they came out fresh
Heikki showed up clearly copying my steeze. Dammit, thats twice in one year

Stan, Chelsea, and Grete were making faces.

Everyone was in the posing mood, Justin, Liesl, and an unknown hottie.

Sterbo was on a mission to get faded. He had to leave Fice cause he claimed, "im not getting drunk fast enough". Looks like it was mission accomplished Sterb's.Pat and Will seemed a little tipsy as well
Ming was super stoked to see me. Fun night, thanks Liesl, Corey B, and Laura.
