A minute on Orchard

My brother showed me a city photo stitched together like this a year or two ago and ever since I wanted to try it. I didn't think it was gonna work since i couldn't stand far enough away to use a 50mm lens. Anyway, I found a spot on the Lower East Side to try it out with a little help from my friend Kelly. Im gonna print a couple 5ft long . Click on it and scroll to the side.

Rainy Days

On the last day in Tokyo it stared to rain and the umbrellas came out. Umbrella's are big in Japan

Fashhhion

Last week we happened to be in Milan during fashion week. Bettina from Red Bull got us tickets to the Dsquared (whatever that is) show. I went not really knowing what to expect but it ended up being awesome....More photos to come.Bettina was wearing fancy heels in honor of fashion week

Japan is classic

Im sitting at the airport going through photos from my 1st trip to Japan and I gotta say, the place is impressive. The people especially. Ive never been to a place where people were so friendly and welcoming.

On the only sunny day we had while being there, we were walking through the shopping area near the Burton store and a bunch of school children walked through....I got to take a couple snaps before the teachers thought i was a creep....The hats and smiles make the shot.

Hockey is king

in Canada. Its common to see all foot traffic stopped if team Canada is playing on any TV nearby. This night the intersection was actually blocked due to so many hockey fans blocking the street. Even the petty cab drivers took a sec to watch the game.

The Games were a blast

Sani, Mu, and Fischi were cutting through town on their way back from the interior BC and decided to stop off for the pipe finals. Luckily they sold beer because those guys sat in the stands for about 10 hours before the day was over. Awesome crew for sure!!

While everyone else was at practice

We took the sea kayaks for a spin. Not a bad way to get your mind off the biggest contest in 4 years. Vancouver is so beautiful.

Riding in the rain

A couple days before the big event we went up to Grouse and took some nighttime rain laps. I hadn't ridden at night in years. It brought back alot of fun old days sessions. DC has way more snow than Grouse.

You guys wanna go to dinner?

The other night Jussi, Shaun and I were on our way to dinner and we ran into Heikki and Eero. They joined us. The amount of rotations those guys have done in their life equal about infinity. While the Finns spoke Finnish, Shaun and I usually just looked at each other.

Budman

This is Bud. He's on of the most interesting and awesome dudes I know. Were staying at the same house here in Vancouver. I wanted to test the lighting on a photo idea I had and Bud happened to be sitting the same place. What a handsome SOB.

Whoa Sexton

A couple years ago my brother and I got permission to shoot on this behemoth of a rail im sure you have all seen at the Delta Center in SLC....After a few moves went down on this baby Joe decided he was gonna front board it. After many many tries he cleaned her and almost hit the tree at the bottom. You prolly saw the shot in Down With People. Needless to say, this is most like the heaviest FS board to date.

Later night that night Bryan Fox and Austin Smith handled the rail right next to it. Getting permission leads to good things. This photo ran in TWS or Snowboarder. I cant remember which. Joe's a beast. Photo Justin LHeureux

Skate session?

Here is a photo I just saw from this Swedish photo website that did a post on all the snow in DC. In the foreground is Freedom Plaza. The main skatespot in the city. WTFFFF

Intermission

The days of watching snowboard contests while freezing are over. I'll settle for chandeliers and toasty toes any day, HAHA...between the mens and womens final I got to check out a little suite a friend of mine had. Thanks Devin

Man, Im High

23 ft backside airs are becoming a regular thing. Me getting this shot in focus at 2.8 without a tripod, while shooting 1/50 of a sec isnt.

Anyway. You get the idea. Shaun was going massive

Dressed to Impress

The other night while still in Mammoth, NBC sent Monday Night Football's Chris Collingsworth out to interview Shaun. We met up with Chris at the Red Bull house. He was a super cool guy and I got to talk football with him for a bit. Jesse wore his fancy new Sean John shirt to the interview.

Mono Lake

I know all you guys have probably driven buy this thing a million times. I however havent. So when I drove by it i was pretty blown away. For those of you that havent. Mono Lake is about 30 miles North of Mammoth Ca, near Yosemite National Park. The lake is at the far western edge of the Great Basin and it is a salt water lake. Alot like the Great Salt Lake which happens to be a the east side of the Great Basin. Geography lesson over.

One of the best

This is by far one of my favorite board graphics of all time. I should have traded this guy something for his board.

Men at Work

Last season Andy started busting out construction vests during urban shoots...quickly we learned how good this worked and got vests of our own. On this particular day we actually had some construction to do for this spot, thus the drill. Andy, you still owe me one.Marben, Me, Pierre, Andy, Robbie Walker....good day

Its Bright Out Here

Charles and I were trying to have a nice conversation the other day but it was so bright it looks like we are just standing here saluting each other. Thanks to Matt Couture for the photo.
