I moved to the DC area in 1992, right before 9th grade. I was already pretty into skateboarding before this but when i moved there it was like a kid in a candy store. After only a few days of living there i had met a good crew who are still my best friends to this day. (Two Niners) DC was a skate mecca at this point. Chris Hall, Pepe Martinez, and Andy Stone were killing it. It wasent like it was today though. Skating downtown was pretty rough. Kids would get boards stolen often and we'd see our fair share of fights and other crazy stuff. Luckily i met a couple of the older guys early on and never really had many problems. Kids now days dont care. They will talk shit to anyone. Its crazy how things changed. Anyway...I saw these old ads on someone elses blog so i barrowed em. Nicotine and Capital were such rad companies. DC in the 90's was all time.Ive gotten to know Chris over the years. Last time i talked with him was at the "And Now" premier in LA. He was working at Sole Tech designing shoes.
Unfortunatly Pepe passed away a couple years back and im not too sure what Andy is up to. I think he still lives in the DC area.
