Nobody's Home
At the end of the road in Wanaka is this ultra modern house with the best view ive ever seen. This place has surely been on the cover of Dwell Magazine a couple times. Anyway, I found this house last year while searching for a good timelapse spot. Im not sure if its someone's second home or some sort of retreat house, but its always vacant, and everytime ive been there, the shades are closed. Spencer, Hannah, Susie and I went out there one afternoon to shoot a couple photo and video shots. I forgot to tell them there was a trampoline.

The view is not horrible
The brightest star is Venus.
Unfortunately this last photo was part of a timelapse. After about 40 frames of the timelapse frost covered the lens and when I came back at 3am to pick the camera up i realized I just wasted 4 hours.Frosty the snowman

Such a good trip
This was the last trip we'll all be on with Cyril, for at least a while...Him and his girl are taking a year off and just traveling the world surfing...living the dream. "For Sure Not" a bad ideaIm glad we all got to kick it for a couple weeks before his mission begins.

On the way down from Snowpark
Zack got a Facebook hammer
In the upper left is the resort we have been trying to shoot at for days (Cardrona). The cloud hasn't moved meaning, we havent shot.
After we rallied the cars 8 times through a giant puddle this is what happened. I guess mother nature loves offroading?

Taking the Bronze
The game of SKATE finally got under way after some heavy rain...All in all there were about 30 people entered including some heavies. Unfortunately and fortunately I dont have any photos from the game since I was skating the entire time.
The rules to this game: The tricks do not go through the line. If someone misses. The trick stops. Also, tricks are never repeated. By the end of the game the wildest weirdest stuff was getting thrown since there were no tricks left.
22 year old, Angelo Lee won after talking a minor amount of shit, claiming a victory. He def deserved to win though. Every trick was popped hi and proper...and he put me out on a switch double flip. Old ass Tony Lisi got second. The only person older than Tony in the event was Older ass Art. His brother. Dont ask how me Tony and I made it to the podium, we had a good draw...We are no where near as good as at least 20 of the other skaters in the game.
Everyone then lined up for a group photo as usual. Since Tyler is slacking so hard on posting the photo, I had to post a photo of Tyler taking the photo.
Dan and Fuzzy were so siked that Tony and I made it to the podium, Dan tried to pick up Fuzzy in celebration. This might be my favorite photo in the history of cameras.

Thanks to Tony who made this day happen. It was priceless.

Not as easy at it should be
Rory and I got the idea of shooting a side by side smith grind photo at Two Nine. Considering its prolly the easiest frontside ledge trick other than a 5050, it shouldn't have been this hard.

Back Home
Just got back from a fun few days in Alexandria/DC....Its always so fun to catch up with all my oldest friends that are so responsible for making me who i am. Skating with those guys is unlike skating with anyone else. We've all known each other since we were 14 and learned a ton about life and skating around one another. One thing I noticed more than anything else on this trip is how individual everyone is. Even though we spent 10 years non stop within the same social scenes everyone is 100% unique. We could not see each other for 5 years and still feel like it was yesterday.
After the sentimentality was over, we decided to play a warm up game of SKATE at the park where Two Nine is. Tyler nuked it as usual. Why the dude works for SB and doesn't skate for them is beyond me. Switch BS Flip
Neal is one of the younger Two Niners. I met him a few years ago..He has a bag of tricks for days...FS Blunt.
On the way to the bar we stumbled past the double set we skated every Christmas Day for years. Christmas was the only time you could skate this thing during the day without getting kicked out. Brenden reminisced and ollied it for old times sake. (For the record, I haven't done a damn thing down the big part)
After the session, we finally made it to "Arts Place" for a couple beers. Paul and I got a chance to talk some shit. Anyone you consider a friend is an important piece in the puzzle. Old friends maybe a little more.
