Rocky is Huge in Philly
No trip to Philly would be sufficient without seeing all the sites.....Love Park, Liberty Bell, and the statue of Rocky Balboa. Which used to be at the top of the steps and now moved to the bottom of the steps. Reason being, apparently too many people died running up the steps trying to imitate the scene in Rocky 1.
Guaranteed that as many tourists visit this statue as any other statue in America...The line was 30 deep..This dudes did their best impersonation of the film.
These folks decided to get married next to the Rocky Statue...They must have been huge fans
Even the Amish love the movie. They came to check it out too

Foggy Friday
Actually I don't know what day this was but Foggy Friday sounded cool as a title.....The other night i peaked my head out of the door and the entire sky was pink fog...Pretty cool for photos I thought. I quickly grabbed the camera and headed to the beach...By the time i got there the sky was anything but pink. Totally socked in and with the extremely low tide pretty surreal out..
Im not one to usually post surf photos, many of you know my feelings on the surf art culture...anyway I thought these would make a good blog and no I won't be selling them at the local coffee shop.
Muzzy actually walked out of the water right next me to. I couldn't recognize who it was until he was about 10 feet away.
I guess when your arm doesn't fit around the board you have to drag it?

Apparently It Has Rats
Was walking around the streets of Philly after skating in the previous post. The light was reflecting off of this building in a pretty cool way so i pulled out the camera. As I started taking photos this super drunk guy came up to me and wanted to discuss photography and what I was taking photos of. I happily obliged and had a great talk with the dude. Apparently this building is overpriced and has rats. Bummer.

A Few Hours To Visit LOVE
For years we'd head to Philly a couple times a summer for skate missions with the boys. These were always so fun. Loading up in the mini van, heading to FDR for a warm up and then downtown to skate Love Park and City Hall, film and hang out with our Philly friends.
I recently landed in Philly on a Saturday afternoon and quickly headed downtown to see if anything was left of these famous and doomed spots. It seems like the city of Philadelphia would rather Love Park become a homeless colony than a skate spot. Dont really understand the logic here but its pretty classic. City hall was completely ripped out and it looked like what was once arguably one of the best spots in America is becoming another building. All those years of them chasing us out of there for messing up their marble was pointless after all.
The 3 stair ledge has now become a table for a game of Chess. The city obvious doesn't want to build real tables for its citizens. This ledge was sooo good and there are some good memories of sessions we had here. Miss those days for sure
Love Park is still skateable on the lower level. Especially in the winter months when the fountain is turned off. I actually had a good hour to skate and never got kicked out by some miracle of God.
I had a enjoyable day reminiscing about old shit and thinking about how much fun we had those days. We need to plan another Philly trip soon

Shanghai'd
Had an hour or two to kill before getting on a plane inland. Got to quickly check out Shanghai...The place is massive in size. Apartment buildings for countless miles and what seemed to be a super nice downtown area. Wish i coulda spent more time skating around,

Something Around Every Corner
Whenever you see a bunch of people on the side of the road with their cameras out its probably a good idea to pull over and figure out what they are shooting. Once again we were not let down. This dude on the sport bike was rallying this corner back and forth and back and forth dragging a knee while all these folks took photos. Only thing that was kind of wierd about it was he wasn't even going that fast. The Bolts Action dudes would have went twice as fast on a Harley without kneepads.
People in Taiwan take their motorcycle photography seriously
Until the cops show up....HA....Classic.

Office Space
In one of the factories I noticed this rad old desk with minimal light on it. I asked the worker if he minded if I shot a few photos of him. He was happy to oblige.
In the states you ask people to shoot there portrait and they think you are trying to poke fun of them and always have apprehension. Sometimes someone just looks interesting or is in an interesting setting and you want to document it.
Many thanks to this dude.
