Was walking around the streets of Philly after skating in the previous post. The light was reflecting off of this building in a pretty cool way so i pulled out the camera. As I started taking photos this super drunk guy came up to me and wanted to discuss photography and what I was taking photos of. I happily obliged and had a great talk with the dude. Apparently this building is overpriced and has rats. Bummer.

A Few Hours To Visit LOVE
For years we'd head to Philly a couple times a summer for skate missions with the boys. These were always so fun. Loading up in the mini van, heading to FDR for a warm up and then downtown to skate Love Park and City Hall, film and hang out with our Philly friends.
I recently landed in Philly on a Saturday afternoon and quickly headed downtown to see if anything was left of these famous and doomed spots. It seems like the city of Philadelphia would rather Love Park become a homeless colony than a skate spot. Dont really understand the logic here but its pretty classic. City hall was completely ripped out and it looked like what was once arguably one of the best spots in America is becoming another building. All those years of them chasing us out of there for messing up their marble was pointless after all.
The 3 stair ledge has now become a table for a game of Chess. The city obvious doesn't want to build real tables for its citizens. This ledge was sooo good and there are some good memories of sessions we had here. Miss those days for sure
Love Park is still skateable on the lower level. Especially in the winter months when the fountain is turned off. I actually had a good hour to skate and never got kicked out by some miracle of God.
I had a enjoyable day reminiscing about old shit and thinking about how much fun we had those days. We need to plan another Philly trip soon

Shanghai'd
Had an hour or two to kill before getting on a plane inland. Got to quickly check out Shanghai...The place is massive in size. Apartment buildings for countless miles and what seemed to be a super nice downtown area. Wish i coulda spent more time skating around,

Something Around Every Corner
Whenever you see a bunch of people on the side of the road with their cameras out its probably a good idea to pull over and figure out what they are shooting. Once again we were not let down. This dude on the sport bike was rallying this corner back and forth and back and forth dragging a knee while all these folks took photos. Only thing that was kind of wierd about it was he wasn't even going that fast. The Bolts Action dudes would have went twice as fast on a Harley without kneepads.
People in Taiwan take their motorcycle photography seriously
Until the cops show up....HA....Classic.

Office Space
In one of the factories I noticed this rad old desk with minimal light on it. I asked the worker if he minded if I shot a few photos of him. He was happy to oblige.
In the states you ask people to shoot there portrait and they think you are trying to poke fun of them and always have apprehension. Sometimes someone just looks interesting or is in an interesting setting and you want to document it.
Many thanks to this dude.

When a Fogged Lens Finally Pays Off
My 1st morning in Taipei I got up early to run around the city and shoot some photos. My hotel that night had been super cold from the AC and I think open the camera bag till i was outside. Well, it was as humid as Virginia there so instantly all the lens fogged. This wasn't the quick whip fogged lens. It was deep and took forever to clear. I decided to shoot anyway. Not sure if this is some new shit or what...HA.

These Guys Were Amazing
On the same mountain road as the scooter racers we came across this truck with a couple guys sitting in the back. I pulled out the camera and long lens to get a snap and they noticed i was trying to take a photo of em. They loved it apparently and began dancing, cheering and celebrating. This made my day. One of the coolest things i saw while in Taiwan. I wish i could have bought them a beer afterwards.
These guys are legends

A First Look?
Alex and I found some great spots on the trip. This wasn't necessarily one of them but still made a great snap. We walked over to check this bump and met this guys who had just gotten off their shift in the construction site behind. They were really interested in skateboarding, I don't think they had seen it before and they instructed us to show them some tricks. I decided this was a too good a photo to pass up, handed Alex the came and got a very memorable shot.
Anyone can appreciate skateboarding.

The Down Low
When initially heard about this Asia factory trip i was immediately interested. I knew more than anything else that I would get to photograph or film some seriously interesting and out of the ordinary stuff. On our second day over there we visited a Down feather factory. This factory actually supplies 80% of the worlds down feathers for comforters, jackets etc.
This woman was our factory guide. She was happy to pose for a quick snap
I wasn't given lessons on which button to push
Everything had a small coating of feathers
We didn't have masks.
One of the more interesting places I've been recently.

800 cc's of Scoot
On the way back from this beach town called Yilan on the east coast of Taiwan we took this amazing, windy mountain road back to the city of Taipei. As we got more and more in the country we noticed how many people were actually rallying the living hell out of their scooters.
This particular scooterer was fully kitted out in leathers and happy to pose for a couple photos. After we snapped some shots he showed us he was a boss and rallied around the corner we were standing on going about 70mph around cars in the oncoming lane, no biggie.

Afternoon Game of Cards
While skating at this spot near our hotel in Huaian, China we noticed the same group of guys playing cards in the park everyday around 3pm. We couldn't really figure out what game they were playing but none the less it was a cool scene
The guys didn't really seem to have a problem with me taking a few snaps, or they didn't speak english and we didn't speak Chinese so it didn't seem like they had a problem
Its really cool to think that a game like cards is played all over the place. It has no cultural divide.
These guys were amazing. Im sure they are playing again today. I wish i would have gotten their contact info and sent them some prints.
